Job Title: 2016-17 Elementary Guidance Counselor
Job Description: The Villages Charter School is looking for an elementary Guidance Counselor for the 2016-17 school year, beginning in July, 2016. Candidate must have a Master’s Degree in School Guidance & Counseling and a FL Teaching Certificate (or be eligible for one). Will consider individuals who are working toward their guidance certification through an accredited post-secondary program. Must have excellent communication skills and be child centered. Job Title: Afternoon After Care Aides
Job Description: Approximately 20 hours per week and will qualify as employment for your child's enrollment in the charter school. We are looking for energetic individuals for our After Care Program for the Primary, Intermediate and/or Middle Schools. Part-Time - (APPROXIMATELY 2pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday). Candidates must have experience working with and supervising children and possess classroom management skills. Position is responsible for own class of students and will provide creative arts and crafts, and recreational activities. Job Title: Facilities Service Technician
Job Description: Do you have computer skills? Interested in setting up classrooms? This part-time position at The Villages Lifelong Learning College is the position for you! It also qualifies as employment to enroll your child in the charter school. The hours are approximately 2pm - 8pm a few weekdays to equal 20 hours per week. It requires the person to set up classrooms for daily classes; be able to move chairs and tables; greet students and instructors, provide directions to classes as needed; work closely with maintenance staff on set-up needs; post proper signs before classes; gather feedback from instructors and students; help instructors use the copy machine; know how to set up laptops with projectors, connect to the internet, print reports, open instructors files from flash drives; must be visible/accessible to students and instructors before and after class. Must have HS diploma or GED, 1 to 3 mos. related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Schedule runs from September - May. Job Title: Part-Time ESOL Paraprofessional
Job Description: Applications are now being accepted for part-time ESOL (English as a Second Language) Paraprofessional at K-5 grade level. This position will begin immediately for the remainder of the school year. Responsibilities will include providing basic subject area teachers assistance in supervising ESOL students' learning activities. Performance responsibilities will be, but not limited to, activities such as carrying out learning activities as prescribed by teachers in listening to oral readings, seatwork and individual learning activities, assisting with administering and assessing standardized and teacher-prepared tests. Effective interpersonal relationships with parents, students, and co-workers will be required that best support the school's ESOL student needs. Qualifications: Must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish. The majority of students served are Spanish speakers. To qualify, all applicants MUST HAVE one of the following requirements met: Associate's Degree or higher, 48 semester hours of college credit, or a passing score on the Paraprofessional Exam.
