Have a Happy Thanksgiving with your families.  School will resume on Monday, November 27th. See you then!

You may have noticed your child wearing a lanyard in the hallways of VCS.  This will be required as part of their uniform.  Students will keep their lanyards at school.  They should never go home.   It is $1 to replace the lanyard if it's from misuse, no charge if it's due to a defect

Our field trip to St. Augustine is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 15th.  On the morning of the field trip, please wear your blue uniform shirt.

Founder’s Day is scheduled canceled for Friday, Oct. 6th. It will be rescheduled at a later date. Our name will be the Luau Limbo booth!  If you would still like to donate your time, please let me know by emailing me.  We still have a couple of time slots open.

ELA: Comparing and contrasting firsthand and secondhand accounts, affixes and roots

MATH: comparing and ordering fractions, add and subtracting parts of a whole, and writing fractions as a sum on unit fractions

 SCIENCE: Weathering and Erosion

 Behavior/AR logs

Your child's behavior/AR log will be coming home every Monday along with their graded work.  Please make sure that you sign the log and return it the following day. This log has great communication about your child's behavior and their progress toward their AR goals.

Please make sure on all homework (math and reading) that test taking strategies are shown i.e. underlining where you found your answers, boxing in key vocabulary, eliminating answers, etc. When your child is completing their math homework, please make sure that their work is shown. Thank you for helping us with this matter! It is important that we as teachers know where our students are making mistakes!

Students are expected to turn in all assignments when they are due unless they have an absence. Makeup work must be turned in within the number of days missed plus one day to receive credit. Any assignment turned in a day late will only be given a maximum of 60% and will earn a zero thereafter. All projects are due on the due date. No late projects will be accepted, even if the child is absent (see handbook pg. 19).
