Welcome to the VHS Buffalo Athletic Training Page
My name is Ben Miller and I am the Head Athletic Trainer here at VHS. I am currently responsible for covering all 24 sports teams we have at VHS. Please use the following page to help answer any questions you might have about Athletic Training or how it pertains to the buffalo student athletes.
As a Licensed, Certified Athletic Trainer my main goal is to help prevent injuries through education. I strive to provide quality services such as prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions for the student athletes at VHS.
The injury process that we have established here for the VHS Athletic Training Clinic is as followed:
*If an athlete develops an injury the athlete should report to the Athletic Trainer for evaluation, while also communicating with the coach so that everyone stays involved.
*If the Athletic Trainer recommends a referral to a physician then the parent or guardian will be contacted and the athlete will be provided with the proper documentation to do so. (The parent or guardian always has the option to take their child to the Dr. if they so chose we just ask that the communication between the parent, student, coach and athletic trainer stays open to allow us as a Dept. to help with the athletes recovery in any way we can.)
*The student athletes are to report to the Athletic Training Clinic each day following the injury for treatment and rehab, until released back to full activity by the ATC or physician.
*The VHS Athletic Training Clinic is open everyday during both A&B Lunches and every afternoon after school.
