The Villages Early Childhood Center ("ECC") and The Villages Little Buffalo Learning Center ("LBLC") are owned and operated by The Villages Early Learning Company, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("VELC"). ECC and LBLC are not operated by The Villages Charter School, Inc. (TVCS), however, in an effort to provide continuity and seamless integration for students who advance to The Villages® Charter School, TVCS provides certain administrative services under contract with VELC.
This is my first year at The Villages Charter School and my eighth year teaching. I will be teaching 9th grade Physical Education and Weight Training for all grades. After serving in the Army for four years I received my Bachelor's degree from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. I have coached football, weightlifting, and track in the past and am currently coaching on the varsity football team. I am very excited to be part of the Villages family and look forward to a great school year.
We are rolling along in our Hope classes as we come close to the end of the semester. In Unit 1 we discussed how to be a well rounded healthy person. Our students learned about mental, emotional, and social health and why it is important to be healthy in all three areas. In Unit 2 we studied mental and emotional health. Students learned about managing stress, coping with loss, and mental and emotional problems. We are currently in Unit 3 where we are studying healthy and safe relationships. Our students are doing a great job in the class and in the gym. Keep up the good work.
In PE we have been tracking our fitness all year long and we have seen huge improvements in our strength and conditioning. Students are working very hard and hopefully you are seeing the difference in their bodies. We will continue to work hard until the end of the semester and enjoy a good holiday break before we get back after it. Keep it up.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you ever have. Have a great holiday season.
