Sheri Hancock-Buffalo Ridge Jayla Ponsford - Middleton
The Golden Girls Spirit Squad is a performing and competitive dance team and sideline cheer squad and is considered an athletic program. The MS Golden Girls perform at our MS athletic events as well as guest perform at High School athletic events. The team also performs for the community and competes at the Regional, State and National levels.
Our VCMS Golden Girls are the Junior High Kick National Champions for 3 consecutive years!
We are beyond excited to expand our Middle School Golden Girl program to the Middleton Campus. We are confident that each group will work together and build teams that reflect the tradition of hardwork and success that is the Golden Girl program!

- Our New Team meeting will be Monday, April 24 at 6:00 pm in the VCMS Cafeteria
- Parents should bring the summer camp deposit ($150)
- Golden Girls need to bring their chromebooks
- Our first team practice will be Tuesday, April 25th from 3-5
- Practice will be Tues/Thurs through the end of this school year.
- The new team will be working on a piece for the Spring Dance Concert

Summer Auditions for VCMS Golden Girls will be held on Friday, July 21st at 3:00PM in the Villages HIGH School Dance Studio (current Buffalo Ridge location). This audition is open to all VCMS 23-24 New enrollment students for BOTH Buffalo Ridge and Middleton Campuses. Special requests should be directed to the director for your school site.

All candidates will need to complete the information below to register for the audition.

- All candidates must have a current athletic physical and parents must create an Athletic Clearance account.

Some are having difficulty joining the tryout band. You may also access the tryout material here:
- Candidates will perform a dance routine that includes jazz, pom, hip hop and kick styles. Videos are posted by each segment and each has a segment with counts and music. Candidates should learn the segments in order of how they appear in the routine.
The order of the dance is:
1. Jazz
2. Pom
3. Hip Hop
4. Kick
There are full routine demonstrations with counts and with music.

- Golden Girl Audition Skill Components
- Splits: Right and Left
- Pirouettes: Two attempts on the right side
- Turns in 2nd (a la seconde pirouettes): This is an advanced turn and should only be done if the candidate is confident with the skill.
- Toe Touch
- Grand Jetes: Right and Left
- Specialty Skill: You will also be asked to show one specialty skill of your choice from the options listed. If you do not wish to show one of the options that follows, you may repeat a skill from above. Options are: right aerial, left aerial, kip up, headspring, turning disc, tilt jump, firebird, leg extension turn, scale, front walkover, or back walkover
