MIDDLE SCHOOL

Athletics

Welcome to The Villages Charter Middle School Athletics page.  We encourage all of our students to join one or more of our 12 middle school sports.  It is our goal that our student-athletes have both a memorable and challenging experience.

There have been many studies on the benefits of participating in middle school sports.  These studies have shown an increase in social, emotional, physical, and academic engagement.  We believe our coaching staff can offer your child all of these benefits while providing lifelong lessons.

Students who are in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade can become a member of our athletic programs, with the exception of football.  Due to the physical nature of football, 6th grade students are not permitted to participate.  All students will be required to meet academic and behavioral requirements in order to participate.  Parents and students must complete an updated FHSAA athletic physical, consent form, Covid-19 waiver, and provide a copy of their insurance card in order to try out or participate. These forms can be found under our middle school athletics page or can be picked up at our middle school front office.

Students and parents will be notified at the beginning of the respective season on try-out dates and when all athletic forms are required to be turned in.  This information will be found on each team's athletic page and through our morning announcements.  Once your child has been selected on a team, a parent meeting will be scheduled by the head coach.  Our head coaches will review expectations, practice, game schedules, as well as any fees that may apply.

We look forward to being a part of your child's educational and athletic journey.
