Welcome to the 2022/2023 School Year!

I am very excited to start this year! We are already here at school getting everything ready and I am looking forward to meeting you next Tuesday during Orientation. If you haven't checked yet, here is a list of things you will need by the first day of school:

Specific to Science Class (both regular & advanced):

• (2) Pocket Folders
• 1 Box of Colored Pencils
• Highlighters
• Paper towels - 1 Roll

Regular and Advanced Science

Here is some information and what to expect about our class:

Daily Requirements:

• Appropriate outfit that meets VCS Uniform Policy requirements and Lanyard
• Chromebook, charged
• Earbuds or headphones - NO BLUETOOTH - wired ONLY
• Pocket Folder dedicated to science class work
• Pencils, Pens, Highlighters, colored pencils

Tools we use:

• Google Classroom, so you will be able to keep track of your work even if you are absent.
• Pearson Online Textbook: Students will access via Clever by clicking on "SAVVAS EasyBridge"
• EdPuzzle: Use the "Signin with Google" button - or - signon with the same information you use to log on the Chromebook
• Quizizz: Use the "Continue with Google" button - or - signon with the same information you use to log on the Chromebook
• Quizlet: Use the "Log in with Google" button - or - signon with the same information you use to log on the Chromebook
• Skyward: Students signon information is the same user/password that they use to signon a desktop computer at school
• USATestPrep: Students will access via Clever by clicking on "USATestPrep"

We will use other software during the year and that information will be shared when needed.

Other Information:

• Questions: If you have questions, please feel free to email me (Kyle.Mahlan@tvcs.org) and I will respond as soon as I can. 
• Tutoring: Times for 2022/2023 school year will be announced as needed during the school year.
• Important Forms: Each student and family will need to review and sign several forms at the beginning of the year. In addition to the regular forms (Teacher Syllabus/Classroom Management Behavior Plan, Chromebook Device Usage Agreement), each science class requires a signed "Student Safety Contract". These will all be available to you electronically.
