Guided by experienced and passionate art educators, visual arts students engage in hands-on learning experiences, experimenting with different materials, techniques, and processes to create original works of art.
Through studio-based learning, students learn 2D and 3D art using a wide range of media and techniques from both a historical and contemporary perspective. They are taught to understand, create and appreciate artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, traditional photography, digital photography, sculpting, ceramics, and more.
Opportunities to extend creativity and knowledge through Advanced Placement and self-directed portfolio development courses give students the opportunity to develop and refine their artistry as they explore the world of art and design.

Each year, TVCS hosts Buffalo Market in the outdoor VHS courtyard where vendors, including student clubs, organizations, and student-owned businesses, can display and sell their creative wares and homemade crafts.
