With over 200 race participants, the 8th Annual Running with the HERD 5K is officially in the books. On February 15, 2025, people of all ages ran, walked or skipped a 3.1 mile loop around The Villages Charter Middle School at Buffalo Ridge campus. In addition to a 5K Race, our Stampede Sprint 100 Meter Kids Race (ages 10 and under) and the HERD Hurdle Havoc Obstacle Course (ages 3 – 12) returned this year.
Hosted by the Buffalo HERD, this fundraising event benefits the Buffalo Scholarship Foundation (BSF). Proceeds support a scholarship awarded to a graduating senior who is focused on law enforcement or civil service.
The mission of the BSF is to assist hard-working students as they pursue their post-secondary education dreams. Graduates of The Villages High School (VHS) are eligible to apply for the various scholarships and endowments supported by BSF.
Congratulations to C. Langston, a 12 year old who won the men’s overall standings with a time of 16:40, and A. Mills, an 11 year old who won the women’s overall standings with a time of 22:45!
