BASE Program

Enrichment for students, peace of mind for parents.

High School students still on campus at 2:50pm, not participating in an approved and supervised activity such as tutoring, athletics, or clubs, must report to the Cafeteria for the Buffalo After School Enrichment (BASE) Program, an after school study hall.

BASE begins at 2:50pm and ends at 6:30pm for a cost of $100 per nine weeks. We look forward to working with you and your students for a successful experience this school year!

Daily Schedule

2:50 - 4:00pm

VHS Cafeteria

After receiving a snack, students will break out into teacher-led academic time in core subjects.

All students reporting to BASE must complete this academic enrichment time.

*This period of time is offered to families free of charge.

4:00 - 6:30pm

VHS Cafeteria & Courtyard

Students will be able to continue any homework they may still need to complete, play board games with friends, or participate in other fun activities, such as corn hole or ring toss.

4 - 5:30pm

VHS Cafeteria

Or other areas appointed by intramural coaches/teachers.

Students will be able to participate in a variety of enrichment activities such as eSports, pickleball, kickball, etc. for an additional charge (Offerings will vary by nine weeks)

Periodically, there will be an Academy Snapshot where one academy is highlighted, and students are given the opportunity to experience what that academy has to offer at no additional charge.

Important Reminders

  • The Student Code of Conduct applies in the BASE program. Students will be held to the same high standards to which they are accountable during the regular school day. Behaviors that include physical contact, or other behaviors deemed inappropriate by school staff, will be grounds for suspension from BASE.
  • Students are required to sign in and out. Once signed out, students are not permitted to return to campus for the day. Please make sure students leave campus after school and do not return if they do not want to attend and pay for the BASE Program.
  • Students leaving the BASE program for the day should be picked up at the doors by the cafeteria in the southwest parking lot. Parents may call or text the student that they are outside or call 352-259-3777 to speak to BASE personnel
  • Students above the age of 16 may sign themselves out of the BASE program, with parent permission. If you would like your student to have this privilege, please contact Valerie Kacinskas.
