Welcome to The Villages Charter School family! This checklist explains the important programs, apps and websites used to help you and your child have a successful school year.

Parent Involvement

Get involved! Research indicates that parents who participate in their child’s academic life can greatly increase their chances of success.

Parental Involvement (PI) hours may take many forms and our Charter School Advisory Board has determined a level of participation for each family, as well as specific areas where parents can have the greatest impact.

Teacher Connection

Easily find contact information for your children’s Elementary School (VCES), Middle School (VCMS) and High School (VHS) teachers and administrators.

You can also visit each teacher’s page, powered by Google Classroom, for more detailed information on class requirements, homework assignments and more.

Clever

Access your child’s curriculum resources including textbooks, apps, and a variety of educational resources in one secure spot.

Stay informed on your child’s attendance records, test grades, missing assignments and more. With Skyward, you can have a great overview of how they are doing and if there’s anything you can do to help.

Manage daily school dismissals clearly and seamlessly. This notification system increases the safety of student releases, gives teachers more time with students and helps everyone stay informed on all dismissal instructions.

For the 2024-2025 school year, The Villages Charter School is able to offer a breakfast and a lunch to every student… at no cost to you. Learn more about our Food Service offerings.

You can also purchase à la carte items (additional entrée, snacks, drinks, etc.) that are not included in the basic breakfast or lunch. Available anywhere, anytime, you can avoid lost checks and trips to school with forgotten lunch money by securely paying online. Review transaction history, check balances, receive low balance alerts and make deposits that are available in minutes!

Uniforms

Learn about our uniform policy, created to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn and grow in a business-like environment conducive to learning.

We hope that holding students accountable for these expectations will continue our success in growing your children into responsible, well-rounded individuals with entrepreneurial spirits.

Also, families can benefit from a uniform “swap” or purchase gently used, outgrown items at events led by Buffalo HERD.

After Care

Enjoy peace of mind with an optional after school program that provides a safe, supervised environment full of enriching and age-appropriate activities for students in grades K-12.

In Buffalo Adventures (K-8) and after school Study Hall (9-12), children gain independence and have the freedom to pursue interests in:

Socialization skills
Sports and physical activities
Exploration in the arts
Extra time for homework
