Buffalo Adventures

Buffalo Adventures is an optional after school program providing a safe, supervised environment full of enriching and age-appropriate activities for The Villages Charter School (VCS) students in grades K-8. Because the program is based on choices, children gain independence and have the freedom to learn more about what interests them. We feature opportunities for socialization, sports and physical activities, exploration in the arts, and time for homework. The Buffalo Adventures program offers after school childcare, extra-curricular activities, and holiday camps that are available during many of the breaks during school.

Late Pick-Up Policy

At 6:30pm every attempt will be made to reach you or an authorized person on the Emergency Contact Form you provided. However, if we have not been notified of your delay and are unable to make contact by 7:00pm, we will notify the proper authorities to assist in locating appropriate care for your child.

The following overtime fees will accumulate while your child is under the supervision of Buffalo Adventures.

6:30pm - 7pm

$2 per minute

7pm - 7:30pm

$5 per minute

*Charges are based on the time displayed on the school clock at the Buffalo Adventures desk.

Buffalo Adventures Services are available on a prepay basis only. Payments can be made online through Smartcare.

15% discount will apply to this option.
$612 + $25 registration fee (savings of $108) due on or before August 23, 2024 for the first semester of aftercare.
$612 due on or before January 10, 2025 for the second semester.
No refunds, rebates, rollovers, or credit to an upcoming semester or school year for absences.

Full Year

20% discount will apply to this option.
$1,152 + $25 registration fee ($288.00 savings) due on or before August 23, 2024.
No refunds, rebates, rollovers, or credit to an upcoming semester or school year for absences.

How to Use Smartcare

Buffalo Adventures aftercare payments and account information can be accessed by on the Smartcare app, or follow the user guides for Apple and Android devices below.

Returned Checks

For accounting purposes, the following policy is used for returned checks:

A $25 fee is assessed to the family account for any returned check.
If a second check is returned in the same school year, a $25 returned check fee will be assessed to the family account and the family will be on a “cash only basis” for the remainder of the school year. Payments will need to be made in cash, cashier’s check, or money order.
If a third check is returned, will be a $25 returned check fee will be assessed to the family account and the family will be on a “cash only basis” for the remainder of their enrollment at The Villages Charter School.

Late Payment Fees

The VCS aftercare program is a pay-before-you-stay program. However, if you choose not to pay upfront for aftercare charges, there will be a weekly late fee of $5 assessed to all accounts, with a balance due on Wednesday.

Pick-Up

Manage daily school dismissals clearly and seamlessly. This notification system increases the safety of student releases, gives teachers more time with students and helps everyone stay informed on all dismissal instructions.
