The Villages Charter School (TVCS) is a non-profit organization founded to serve one primary purpose: providing a high-quality education to the children of employees who help make The Villages a success. As a Charter School-in-the-Workplace, our enrollment is based on a parent or guardian’s employment with The Villages or its direct business partners—rather than on residential zoning.
TVCS operates under a charter approved by the Sumter County School Board and the Florida Department of Education. As a School of Choice, we offer an alternative to traditional public schools, tailored specifically to meet the needs of our unique community.
Our school is spread across two campuses:
Combined, our campuses can accommodate approximately 6,500 students.
At The Villages Charter School, we provide a strong, well-rounded education that helps students become lifelong learners. Our curriculum is designed to meet each child’s individual needs, creating a challenging yet supportive environment where they can grow. We emphasize key values like hard work, resilience, and a sense of community.
We empower our students with modern technology, giving them the tools they need to succeed in a digital world. Our passionate teachers focus on developing critical and creative thinking skills, ensuring every child reaches their full potential and is prepared to be a leader in the future.
Our athletics programs offer students from kindergarten through 12th grade the chance to explore their talents and discover new interests. We believe in developing the whole athlete, focusing not just on skills and competition, but also on building character, fostering hard work, and teaching leadership.
Our wide variety of sports programs go beyond the playing field, creating a culture of excellence that helps students achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
TVCS operates under a unique Charter School-in-the-Workplace model, which means enrollment is based on where a parent or guardian works—not where they live. This approach sets us apart from traditional public schools, which enroll students based on residential zones.
TVCS is a one-of-a-kind school system, built specifically to serve the children of employees within The Villages community. With two campuses that span the full academic journey—from kindergarten through high school—our structure allows students to grow and thrive within a consistent, supportive environment.
The Villages Charter School is unique because we enroll students based on their parent or guardian’s workplace, not on where they live. This Charter in the Workplace partnership means your child’s eligibility for enrollment is directly tied to your employment status.
Our school board has created a system that prioritizes enrollment based on specific business partner categories. This approach helps us serve the families of our community’s workforce.
We created the TVCS Marketplace as a resource for our families and business partners. Here, you can find a list of businesses associated with the school, see their latest promotions, and view job openings that could qualify your child for enrollment. The businesses are organized by priority categories (I-IV) to make it easy to find what you’re looking for.
We’d love to connect.
